Cadet of the Week: Posy Beatrice 🌊

This week, Lloyd’s Maritime Institute proudly features Posy Beatrice as our Cadet of the Week — a dedicated Deck Cadet combining academic excellence with leadership and service in the maritime community.

◆ Who is Posy Beatrice?

Posy is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Studies at Warsash Maritime School, aiming for her Officer of the Watch (OOW) Unlimited certification by 2026. Currently in phase three of her cadetship with P&O Ferries, she is gaining hands-on experience in deck operations, navigation, and vessel safety.

◆ Professional Experience

Deck Cadet at P&O Ferries, engaged in bridge watchkeeping, cargo operations, and vessel maintenance.
Active participant in safety drills and emergency response training onboard.
Building practical seamanship skills through structured cadetship phases.

◆ Leadership & Extracurriculars

Vice President of the Women’s Warsash Society, leading initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion in maritime.
Flag Bearer at the Merchant Navy Award Ceremony at Trinity House, representing cadets with distinction.
Long-time member of Ramsgate Sea Cadets, with experience in rowing, drill competitions, and seamanship.
Contributor to community causes through charity work with A.C.T! (Action Community Thanet).
