This week, Lloyd’s Maritime Institute proudly features Laura Kaver as our Maritime Cadet of the Week — a rising professional dedicated to safety, seamanship, and continuous learning.
◆ Who is Laura Kaver?
Laura is a Nautical Science student at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, preparing for her Officer of the Watch (OOW) Unlimited certification. With a year of seafaring experience on Tallink’s Ro-Pax MyStar and other vessels, she has built strong foundations in navigation, safety, and ship operations.
◆ Her Key Skills & Experience
- Bridge watchkeeping, voyage planning support, and deck operations.
- Passenger safety and cargo handling in line with company protocols.
- Familiarity with advanced maritime systems (incl. DP fundamentals).
- Detail-oriented, professional, and a collaborative team player.

Laura represents the next generation of maritime officers: precise, safety-minded, and committed to excellence. As a Fellow of IAMSP, she upholds high industry standards while advancing her professional growth at sea.
